I am an ASHA-certified speech language pathologist with over 25 years of experience in private practice, treating children and adolescents in collaboration with their families. After graduating with an M.Sc. from Teacher’s College, Columbia University in 1993, I completed my fellowship work with Dr. Phillip Schneider. I worked as a speech language pathologist in Israel for 5 years, established and directed a large college-based speech and language clinic, maintained an active private practice in Jerusalem, presented on various topics throughout the country and served on the advisory boards for therapeutic schools for children. I have been practicing in New York and New Jersey since 2000 and earned my PhD at Seton Hall University in 2011. I hold a professional license both in New Jersey and New York.
As an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Speech Language Pathology at Touro College, NY, I have extensive clinical and teaching experience in the areas of early language development, the role of cognition and metacognition in learning, play and language, autism spectrum disorders, online education, and implementation of EMR and teletherapy in professional training programs. My dissertation, entitled “The Role of Verbal Working Memory in New Word Learning in Toddlers 24 to 30 Months Old”, explored the possibility of early identification of toddlers at risk for language disorders. I continue to pursue research in the area of early language acquisition and communication.
Besides my clinical and academic work, I am regularly running professional workshops related to language, play and cognition. I serve as an external consultant for bilingual educational programs and advocate for children and adults with communication disorders. I am fluent in French, English, and Hebrew I am deeply committed to providing children and their families with the tools they need to navigate their personal and academic lives. I believe in working in partnership with families, welcoming their input, perspective, and insight to foster healthy collaboration.
